Private Pilot License (PPL) Course
THE AIM OF THE COURSE
The aim of the Private Pilot License (Airplane) PPL(A) course is to train candidate to the level of proficiency necessary to fly safely and efficiently by VFR rules in non-commercial air transportation as a pilot in command or co-pilot.
Candidate should be at least 16 years of age in order to enroll into the course.
Candidate must have a valid Class 2 or Class 1 medical certificate, issued by Authorized Medical Institution in accordance with JAR FCL 3.
Note: For the PPL examination in front of CAD, the candidate must have at least 17 years of age.
CREDITS FOR PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
The Academy approves flying hours and theoretical training which are realized in other FTO/RF, under these conditions:
- The other FTO/RF must operate according to JAR-FCL and must be certificated as JAR compliant
FTO/RF by its national CAA
- Written approval must be obtained from CAD of Serbia
Training for PPL(A) consists of:
- Theoretical training (full attendance or distance learning course)
- Aircraft training
Theoretical training may be in the form of full attendance or distance learning, depending on the candidate’s choice.
In case of full attendance course, theoretical training program consists of 140 classes (1 class = 45 min.) of instruction conducted at the Academy premises by Ground Instructors:
|Subject||Number of Classes|
|Aircraft general knowledge||28|
|Flight Performance and Planning||4|
|Human Performance and Limitations||8|
|Principles of Flight||12|
In case of the distance learning course, theoretical training is performed by the student alone, supervised by Ground Instructors using email and or phone communication. However, there are three obligatory sessions that require candidate’s presence at the Academy’s premises.
TRAINING ON SYNTHETIC TRAINING DEVICE
There is no training on synthetic training devices.
Aircraft training consists of 4 phases:
|Phase of Training||Main Elements||Dual Hours||Solo Hours|
|Flying aircraft, effects of commands, slow flight, basics of visual orientation||3:20||0:00|
|Controlling of all flying elements in the traffic pattern, separation in relation to other aircraft, take-off and landing with and without wind, engine failure imitation||7:20||4:30|
|Slow flight, stalling flight, engine failure imitation and equipment||3:20||3:20|
|Cross country flying outside of airport zone with orientation by visual orientation and dead reckoning navigation, approaches and landings on other airports.||12:00||11:10|
THE TIME SCALE AND SCALE, IN WEEKS FOR EACH SYLLABUS
In case of full attendance course, complete training for the Private Pilot License lasts 3 months, having in mind that meteorological factors, time of the year, regular attendance of classes and candidate’s commitment can have a significant effect on the duration of the course. In case of distance learning course, complete training lasts 5 months having in mind that candidate’s commitment during distance learning phase can have a significant effect on the duration of the course, along with above mentioned factors.
